What are triads and why are they so important?

  • A triad is a 3-note chord consisting of the root, 3rd and 5th of a scale.

  • Triads are important because they are combined or stacked on top of each other to create more complex chords. They are the basic building blocks of harmony.

  • There are 4 main types of triads - major, minor, augmented and diminished.

This FREE lesson will start you on the road to complete triad mastery!

You will learn 3 voicings ("voicing" is the order in which the notes stacked) of major triads in 6 positions on the guitar neck - in every key.
