Last month we covered the 12-Bar Blues in Open E.

When in the open E position on the neck, the routes the turnarounds follow have to change. We will cover the same turnarounds given in June's newsletter, 3 Common Turnarounds.

In case you haven't noticed, this is the 5th monthly lesson in a row on the Blues:

So...yeah...in spite of the fact that I said I was going to do some beginner to lower intermediate-level one-offs I just can't help myself! These ARE beginner-type lessons but are NOT one-offs; it's a series - each lesson presupposes the ones that come before it.

This series corresponds to Unit 2 of my method, Vertical Truth: Chordal Mechanisms for the Guitar.

So I'm planning to do the same thing with this series as I've done with others previously; when it is complete I will bundle all the lessons in the series into a PDF for download.

If you want to browse through a bunch of unorganised one-off lessons go to the Free Lessons blog category. Site membership is NOT required to view the blogs; anyone can access.

Speaking of blogs:

Blogs Published Since Last Newsletter

Major & Minor Bar Chords: Most people have issues when they first attempt bar chords. This lesson will not only introduce Major and Minor bar chords but will also give you some technique tips that I find greatly facilitate being able to play them - even for beginners.

Practice With Feeling! ...emotional gratification has to be inculcated into your daily practice because it's the feeling that actually creates motivation. So how do you do that? This blog will give you my answer.

LiveStream Performances

One of the things I've learned as a result of the Covid-19 shutdown is the value of leveraging LiveStream performances.

A future blog is in the works that will tell the longer story but for now just know that I am Live Streaming a part of every gig I play.

If you want to be notified when a LiveStream is going to happen just follow me on one of my social media pages:

P.S. The 5-Lesson Foundational Series is presupposed by almost every lesson I teach. It's a PDF download containing 5 lessons which will enable you to find any note anywhere on the guitar neck - without memorizing the notes on every string. It's a $39 value. The Members-Only price is $19. You can download it now for free with no obligation!

If you want more info including a little piece of the first lesson, as well as information on site membership go to the blog, I'm Looking For You!
